"My sincere thanks and appreciation to all of the 899 survivors that turned out for the Race for the Cure on June 7th. What a heartfelt and amazing celebration we had this year because of your devotion to the cause. You are all ROYALTY! Who knew that Stacy Nice, who was diagnosed with breast cancer last fall, would be the top survivor fundraiser ($4325) and be crowned our “Queen for the Day”. Stacy ‘s comment upon learning that she would be Queen and that Edgar Martinez would be placing that tiara on her beautiful head of hair said “… how amazing what joy comes from such sadness.” Congratulations, Queen Stacy, her Court and to each of you for making the celebration incredible. See you all next year."
